As most of you know by now, Across the Airwaves founder, host, and executive producer Dan Schmidt passed away two weeks ago. Dan originally started ATA as a college blog covering his favorite TV shows such as Smallville, Chuck, Fringe, Supernatural, V, and more; and through collaboration with co-founder Nico Reifsteck they started the podcast we know today as Across the Airwaves, along with all the other shows such as Retro Reviews, DC Nation Podcast, It’s Tangent Time, Longbow Hunters, Marvelverse, Thrones Cast, and more.
In tribute to our friend, we here at ATA are going to produce a special memorial episode all about Dan, and we would like all his friends, family, and our faithful listeners to be involved!
We would ask that you all briefly, within 1-2 minutes, record yourself answering a few questions about your relationship with Dan and send it into us as an audio attachment to an email BY AUGUST 16th. Please tell us your name at the beginning of the recording so that we know who you are. But don’t worry, if you don’t know how to record an audio file on your computer or smartphone, you can also call our toll-free voicemail number and leave a 1-2 minute voicemail (don’t forget your name) answering the same three questions below (by Aug. 16):
- How did you meet Dan and what was your relationship with him?
- How did Dan inspire you?
- What is your favorite memory with/about Dan?
Please send us a voice recording to our EMAIL: email@example.com
OR, call our VOICEMAIL NUMBER: 773-809-3363
REMEMBER: The deadline for voicemails and emailed audio recordings is AUGUST 16th.
PLEASE DO NOT FORGET TO TELL US WHO YOU ARE (YOUR NAME) IN THE MESSAGE/RECORDING!
Special thanks to all our podcast listeners for all their unending support over the years, and thank you all for your patience with us here at ATA in the coming weeks and months.
Again, please either call in or record yourself (and send in by email) answering these questions along with any other brief thoughts on Dan and how he impacted your life. Please be respectful of our August 16th deadline so that we can have the time we need to thoughtfully put this episode together.
The ATA Brain Trust.
