Hey, thanks for taking my call. I've been listening for years, never thought I'd be the one calling in with a story like this. But November 7th, 2006 changed everything for me. I was working as a ramp agent for United Airlines at O'Hare International Airport in Chicago. One of the busiest airports in the world. I'd been there almost eight years by that point, seen everything you can imagine on that tarmac. Delays, near misses, mechanical failures, you name it. But nothing, and I mean nothing, prepared me for what I saw that afternoon. It was around four fifteen in the afternoon. November in Chicago, so it was already getting dark early. Overcast sky, clouds sitting low at about 1,900 feet. Standard late fall weather. I was out on the ramp near Gate C17 in the United terminal, pushing back Flight 446. Boeing 737 heading to Charlotte. Routine stuff. I was coordinating with the flight crew, making sure the aircraft was clear to taxi. That's when I looked up and saw it.

Directly above us, maybe 500 to 1,000 feet up, there was this thing just hovering. Dead still. At first my brain tried to make sense of it. Helicopter? No rotors. Blimp? Wrong shape entirely. It was disc-shaped. Completely round, like a frisbee, but metallic. Dark gray, almost like brushed aluminum. No lights on it at all. No windows. No seams or rivets that I could see. Just this perfectly smooth, solid disc hanging in the air beneath the cloud layer. And it wasn't making a sound. Nothing. Complete silence from this thing while we had jet engines running everywhere around us. I radioed the cockpit crew of Flight 446 immediately. Told them to look up. Both pilots saw it too. The captain, he just went quiet for a second. Then he said something like, 'What the hell is that?' I didn't have an answer. None of us did. Within maybe thirty seconds, the radio chatter on our internal frequency went crazy. Other ramp workers started seeing it. Mechanics, baggage handlers, supervisors. People were running out of the terminal onto the ramp area just to get a look. airport personnel witnessing this is remarkable - Kai'

One of our supervisors, a woman who worked in the ramp tower, she called up to the FAA control tower to report it. I heard later what happened with that call. The controller basically laughed it off. Asked her if she'd been celebrating the holidays early. Said something like, 'I haven't seen anything, and if I did, I wouldn't admit to it.' That was the response. That was how seriously they took it. Meanwhile, we had at least a dozen trained aviation professionals standing there watching this thing with our own eyes. I'd estimate the object was somewhere between six and twenty-four feet across. Hard to judge exactly at that distance. Some of the guys thought it was spinning slowly, rotating like a top. Others said it looked completely stationary. I think it might have been doing both. Like it was spinning on its axis but not moving through the air at all. It just hung there, silent, for what felt like an eternity. In reality it was probably about five minutes. Maybe a little longer.
