Hi there. Thanks for taking my call. My name's Dennis, and I'm calling from Utah. I need to tell you about something that happened to me and my family, something we've kept quiet about for a long time. I know how this sounds, believe me I do, but everything I'm about to tell you is the truth. You know what I'm saying? Back in 1994, my wife Carol and I bought a ranch. 480 acres, just south of Fort Duchesne in Uintah County. It was our dream property, you know? Remote, beautiful, protected by this long red rock ridge. We'd been looking for years for a place to raise our teenage son and our nine-year-old daughter away from everything. This place seemed perfect. The land had been sitting vacant for seven years. Previous owners had passed away, and nobody had lived there since. That should have been our first clue, but we just figured we got lucky. The price was right, about what you'd pay for an average house back then. Carol's from the Uintah Basin originally, grew up around here, and I moved to Utah from Arizona when I was seventeen. We both wanted a quiet place to get away from it all. We had no idea what we were in for. It took us a while to remodel the old house before we could move in. Before we took up residence, I noticed something strange in the pasture west of the house. These circular depressions in the ground, about eight feet across. I just figured someone had removed a tree or something. Looking back, that was the ranch trying to tell us something.

In April of 1995, about a year after we bought the place, things started happening. Real things, not just odd marks in the dirt. I stepped outside one evening to check on a cow that was calving in the field south of the house. It was getting dark, and I saw lights out in the field. At first I thought it was kids from a neighboring farm, maybe riding four-wheelers or something. But that didn't make sense. We're isolated out here, three miles from the main road, and you can't even get to our property easy because there's a creek and that huge rock ridge cutting off access. So I watched these lights, trying to figure out what they were. Then the object rose up, went over some poplar trees that are probably 40 to 50 feet tall. That's when I realized this wasn't any RV or four-wheeler. This was something else. Carol didn't see it that time, but she had her own sighting later. She described it better than I could. She said it looked like headlights at first, but they were floating, separated from the craft itself, and there was this red glowing circle, about eighteen inches across. It lit up the whole side of the mountain like broad daylight, she said. Just lit it right up. You know what I'm saying? After that first sighting, we started seeing them regularly. Three specific types kept showing up. There was a small boxlike craft with a white light. Then there was this forty-foot-long object. And then, and I know this sounds crazy, but there was this huge ship. The size of several football fields. I'm not exaggerating. The thing was massive. We saw them enough times that we got to know what each one looked like. We even managed to videotape two of the sightings.

The sightings happened most often during a new moon, or when the sky was overcast or stormy. We'd see more than a dozen in one evening sometimes. One night, my son and I were driving west on the ranch road when we saw one of the lighted objects duck behind the rock ridge, like it was trying to hide from us. We decided to try something. We drove around, snuck up on it from another angle, and before it could disappear again, we both stood up and waved our arms at it. I swear to you, the light flashed on and off three times. Like it was signaling back to us. Then it just vanished. My son looked at me and I looked at him, and we both knew we'd just communicated with something. I don't know what, but something. One of the lights followed Carol's car one night on her way home from work. She works at the bank in town, has for twenty years, and she's the most level-headed person you'd ever meet. When she came home that night, she was shaken up. Really shaken up. Basin light sightings have been reported for decades - Paul' Said the light paced her the whole way down the road. Then there were the voices. I was out in one of the fields with our family dogs when I heard male voices speaking in some language I couldn't identify. The voices sounded like they were about 25 feet above me, but when I looked up, I couldn't see a damn thing. The dogs went absolutely frantic. They were barking and growling, and then they just took off running back to the ranch house. I followed them pretty quick, I'll tell you that much.
