I have waited thirty-five years to tell this story to someone who might actually believe me. And I swear to you, every word of this is true. I was twelve years old in 1989. Just a kid playing football with my friends in a park in Voronezh. You probably heard the news reports back then, the ones from TASS. The whole world laughed at us. Called us liars. Said we were just children with overactive imaginations. But I know what I saw. My friends know what they saw. And I still have nightmares about it. Let me take you back to that evening. September 27th, 1989. It was warm for late September, maybe around six-thirty in the evening. The sun was starting to get low. Me and my friends, there were maybe five or six of us, we were kicking a ball around in what we called South Park. It was just a regular evening. People waiting at the bus stop nearby. Adults walking home from work. Nothing special. Nothing that would prepare any of us for what was about to happen. My friend Dima was the first one to notice it. He stopped mid-kick and just pointed at the sky. I thought he was joking at first, trying to distract me so he could steal the ball. But then I looked up. And I saw this, this pink glow. Like nothing I had ever seen before. It was not a plane. It was not a helicopter. It was just this soft pink shimmer in the sky, and as we watched, it started to change. The pink turned darker. Deeper. Until it became this deep red sphere.
The sphere was enormous. I am not exaggerating when I tell you it was about ten meters across. Maybe nine meters. But massive. And it just hung there in the sky above our park, circling slowly. By now, everyone had stopped what they were doing. The people at the bus stop. Other kids. There must have been thirty or forty of us watching this thing. It hovered maybe twelve meters above the ground, close enough that I could see the grass beneath it moving, like there was wind pushing down from it. And then, just like that, it vanished. One second it was there, the next it was gone. We all stood there, frozen. Nobody said anything. I remember my heart was pounding[ so hard I could hear it in my ears. Some of the adults started walking away, like they wanted to pretend they had not seen anything. But we kids, we stayed. We could not move. And then, maybe a minute later, maybe two, it came back. The red sphere descended. Slowly. Deliberately. Like it was choosing exactly where to land. And it touched down right there in the park, maybe fifty meters from where we were standing. I want to run. Every part of my body was screaming at me to run. But my legs would not work. I just stood there, staring at this thing. The sphere was not perfectly round anymore. It looked flattened, like a disc. Some of the kids later said it looked banana-shaped. And then a hatch opened on the lower part of it.
What came out of that hatch, I will never be able to describe properly. It was humanoid. It had arms and legs and it walked upright. But it was not human. It was enormous, maybe three meters tall. Its head was tiny compared to its body, like a small dome sitting on its shoulders with no neck. And its eyes. God, its eyes. It had three of them. Two on the sides, whitish, and one in the middle that was bright red. The red one, it moved around like a radar. Scanning. Looking at everything. The creature was wearing something like a silver jumpsuit. Overalls, you know? And bronze-colored boots. Heavy boots. It walked with this slow, heavy gait, like the gravity was different for it. On its chest, there was some kind of disc or shield. And on the craft, on the hull, there was a symbol that looked like the letter X. Or maybe it was the Russian letter Zhe. I do not know what it meant. There were more of them. At least two, maybe three that came out. And something else. Something that looked like a robot. Short, boxy, moving alongside the tall creatures. They walked around the craft. Just, just walking. Looking at things. One of the tall ones touched the robot and it started moving on its own. Then they made this triangle appear in the air. I do not know how. It was just there, glowing, shiny, hovering. Like a hologram or something.
